Pianist Fenia I-Fen Chang’s active concert career has taken her to the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher (David Geffen) and Alice Tully Hall, Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, Taiwan’s National Concert Hall, and National Concert Halls in Beijing, Shanghai, China, and tours of France, Italy, South Korea.

Known for her "sophisticated technical expertise, seamlessly blending strength and flexibility with innate eloquence," as praised by the New York Times, and recognized as "undoubtedly one of the preeminent pianists of her era" according to the Washington Post, Pianist Fenia Chang has captivated audiences globally with her captivating sound spanning a diverse range of musical genres.

Dr. Fenia Chang, an esteemed Taiwanese pianist, has crafted a vibrant tapestry of solo and collaborative performances across major cities in the United States, France, Italy, Northern Europe, Canada, Thailand, Hong Kong, and China. Her extensive repertoire has graced renowned venues, including Avery Fisher Hall and Alice Tully at Lincoln Center, Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall, the Museum of Modern Arts in New York, the Terrace Theater at Kennedy Center, the Corcoran Gallery in Washington DC, Strathmore Hall, Meyerson Symphony Hall, Caruth Auditorium, the Ellipse Arts Center, the National Concert Hall in Taipei, Taiwan, as well as the National Concert Hall in Beijing and Shanghai, China.

A laureate of numerous prestigious international competitions, Ms. Chang has earned top honors at the Elizabeth Davis International Piano Competition, Thomas Richner International Competition, Concert Artists Internationals, Young Artist International Piano Competition, and the Frinna Awerbuch International Piano Competition in New York. Particularly noteworthy is her receipt of the Composer's Prize from the Olivier Messiaen International Piano Competition in Paris, France.

Fenia Chang's collaborative spirit has led her to share the stage with eminent musicians, including violinist Michael Shih, Anne Akiko Meyers, Reiko Watanabe, Motoi Takeda, Chee Yun, Charles Stegman, cellist Bion Tsang, Karen Basrak, Eugene Osadchy, and pianists Anton Nel and Brian Ganz. As a highly sought-after chamber musician, she has graced esteemed events worldwide, from the Greenville Entertainment Concert Series in Texas to the French Piano Institute at Ecole Normale de Paris.

An honored Steinway Artist since 2007, Dr. Chang holds degrees from Juilliard and the University of Maryland, and her biography is featured in Marquis "Who's Who in America." Nationally certified as a piano teacher by the Music Teachers National Association since 2005, she currently serves on the piano faculty at Austin College in Sherman, Texas, and Dallas College Mountain View Campus in Dallas, Texas. Her teaching expertise extends to Collin College and Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.

Fenia Chang's influence transcends performance and teaching, encompassing roles as a collaborative pianist, chamber musician, and frequent adjudicator in the Dallas Fort Worth area. Her commitment is further evidenced by the success of her students in national and international competitions. In recent years, she has graced the stage with orchestras such as the Sherman Symphony Orchestra, Allen Philharmonic Orchestra, New Texas Sinfonia, and the Dallas Chamber Symphony.

Dr. Chang is also a sought-after adjudicator, clinician, and frequent presenter at music workshops in the Dallas Fort Worth area. Additionally, she serves as a regular adjudicator at several prominent Metroplex piano competitions, with recent responsibilities at the TMTA Regional Solo Performance Contest in 2022.

Fenia holds Bachelor and Master of Music Degrees from the Juilliard School, and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance from the University of Maryland. Her mentors include pianists Abbey Simon, Russell Sherman, Jerome Lowenthal, John Perry, Thomas Schumacher, and Santiago Rodriguez.
